On February 17, 2009, President Obama signed the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act (ARRA). Of the $787 billion bill, approximately $13.6 billion is for the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD). The bill also includes modifications to the Low Income Housing Tax Credit (LIHTC) program as well as additional funding and program changes to Medicaid.
