The Osteopathic Heritage Foundation’s Capacity Building Initiative is designed to support efforts that will enhance the organizational capacity of certain providers that serve the chronically homeless population in Columbus and Franklin County, Ohio. Capacity projects will contribute to the Foundation’s overall Initiative outcome to enhance organizational capacity to provide more efficient, effective and sustainable services to clients. Each funded project has demonstrated quantifiable results that will be achieved during the funding period.
Capacity enhancements include: Increasing access and linking to services (including employment, safety, transportation, technology) and Enhancing organizational efficiencies (quality improvements, billing systems).
Information about each of these Capacity Building grants follows, and all grantee organizations are located in Columbus, Ohio.
- Amethyst - $25,000 to implement a comprehensive employment training and support program to enhance resident self-sufficiency.
- Columbus Aids Task Force - $16,000 to improve operational efficiencies through technology upgrades of client data.
- Community Housing Network - $50,000 to enhance capacity through upgrades to client accessed resource rooms, property management training, an upgraded training facility and on-site resident safety monitoring.
- Maryhaven - $25,000 to centralize and coordinate resident transportation for needed health and social services.
- National Church Residences - $50,000 to strengthen capacity in providing resident services through a quality improvement plan, increased supportive service funding and client employment resources.
- Southeast, Inc - $10,320 to enhance access to social services and benefits through the implementation of portable technology for case management staff.
- Volunteers of America of Greater Ohio - $32,300 to strengthen capacity to provide needed resident services by increasing supportive service funding.
- YMCA of Central Ohio - $24,000 to expand and upgrade the computer training and employment resource rooms at two permanent supportive housing locations.
- YWCA Columbus - $12,820 to strengthen capacity to provide needed resident services by increasing supportive service funding.
