Blog: Homelessness Ends Here
A healthy and productive life begins with a safe place to call home, especially for children. Homeless children have learning disabilities twice as often and emotional and behavioral problems three times as often as non-homeless children. On any given night in Washington, almost half of those sleeping on the streets or in temporary shelters are families with children. Preventing and ending this tragedy is one of our top priorities.
This video highlights the work of the Sound Families Initiative and its partners, which have helped provide transitional housing and support services to more than 1,500 families and 2,500 children in Washington since 2000.
